Many people want things but not many do anything about that. Many people dream, but not many follow their dreams. I was one of them for many years but I decided to let go of everything that was holding me back (mostly fear and the need to be perfect) and just go through with everything I wanted to do.
Young Millennials is Born!
I wanted to start a personal finance blog for about a year now to track my net worth, share my findings and learn something new from readers with more experience, but didn’t take the leap until. For years I read other people’s personal finance blogs that were filled with knowledge way beyond what I was even able to understand and I felt that if I were to start something, it would not be as good and it will just get lost in a sea of other blogs. So I gave up on that idea for a while, but continued to read my favorite blogs because there is just so much good information out there for me to soak up.
Lately I started to realize that the financial bloggers represent a very small portion, no, a tiny fraction of the population. There are so many people my age that have no retirement savings and no idea how not to live from paycheque to paycheque. There are also many points of view and many readers who enjoy different writing styles. And that is how I got back into it. I decided to get past my fear and start the blog even if it wasn’t that great. “I will just polish it up as I go along and find my audience eventually.” – that’s what I thought to myself and that’s what I think many bloggers did.
The idea was to just get started! Once you get the ball rolling, things will be much easier. I mean isn’t that the best way to learn?
So here it is – Young Millennials! A blog where my wife and I will write about our path from getting out of debt to financial independence…with some fun thrown in for a good measure. So check in with us because…gulp…we will be sharing our net worth on a regular basis to motivate ourselves to bring that puppy up.
